Learn how young professionals can lead the next economy. Dive into a personal story about water, conservation, and making a global impact.
During my brief stay in a remote village, I helped with fetching water. It wasn't a daily chore for me, but it was a crucial part of life. We didn't have a bathroom inside, so we used a separate outside bathroom. A barrel held our water inside the bathroom. Grabbing the scoop and allowing the cold water to flow over my head was a refreshing shower after a long, hot day. Sometimes, if I showered in the morning, they would be kind enough to bring a tea kettle of hot water, a simple luxury I'll never forget.
This experience, so common for millions around the world, fundamentally shaped my perspective. I grew up in California and later retired to Colorado, two places where fresh water is a scarce, valuable resource. I saw firsthand how conservation and responsible use were not just suggestions, but necessities.
But today, the problem is bigger than just conservation. As a global community, we face a crisis where our rivers, lakes, and oceans are not just running low—they are being poisoned. Plastic waste, like the kind we discussed in a recent case study, is a massive problem. But it's not alone. Harmful chemicals are spreading through our waterways, killing marine life and contaminating a resource vital to all of us.
This is precisely the kind of challenge that the next generation of leaders must solve.
Recently, I hosted my first-ever live webinar on the topic: "How Young Professionals Can Lead the Next Economy." I wanted to show my audience that the power to create a better world isn’t just in the hands of politicians or large corporations—it’s in the hands of young, innovative minds who are developing sustainable businesses, from grassroots conservation efforts to global-scale projects.
The energy was incredible, and we dove deep into some of the most pressing issues, including a fascinating case study on plastic waste.
Inspired by the conversation and organizations like Team Water, which is challenging people this month to help raise $40M to give 2 million people clean water for decades, I created a special guide to help you get started on making a difference right where you are.
I'm excited to share a new, free resource: "The Conscious Leader's Guide to Water: Conservation & Protection."
In this guide, you’ll learn:
